Jiří Surůvka (b. 1961) lives and works in Ostrava. He has been active in performance art since 1988. Together with P. Lysáček, he co-founded the performance group Vorkapelle Lozinski. He is also the leader and writer of the performance cabaret Fun Masters Comeback and a member of the artistic group František Lozinski, o.p.s. He also works as a painter and new media artist. He is a professor in the New Media programme at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Ostrava. In 2002, he represented the Czech Republic at the Venice Biennale. His work has been presented in exhibitions in numerous cities across Europe and the United States.
