Miriama Kardošová “Victoria Oren: World Search Tour”

Slovak artist Miriama Kardošová’s audiovisual performance “I Tell Her To Speak” presents a hybrid format that combines a club show with an avant-garde performance incorporating elements of cabaret, featuring several international guest performers. In her recent performances, Kardošová tells the story of her alter ego, Victoria Oren, an imaginary pop star whose unsettling appearances often generate situations of discomfort and deliberately disrupt the audience’s personal space. The extreme forms of stylization and bodily modification that Kardošová employs through her handmade masks and costumes reflect the transformation of a world in which personal crises become political and serve as indicators of a broader social crisis.
