Olia Sosnovskaya is an artist, writer and cultural organiser born in Minsk, Belarus, and based in Vienna, Austria. Her artistic and research practice interweaves performance, visual arts and writing. It addresses practices of assembling and collective choreographies at the intersection of the festive and the political. She is particularly interested in the relationship between text and performativity, focusing on the affects of language and on historical documents situated between the archive and the movement score.
She is a co-founder of WHPH / Decentric Circles, a self-organised platform, and a member of the artistic-research group Problem Collective. Her individual and collective works have been presented at Kunsthalle Wien, e-flux, Tanzquartier Wien, the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, Kyiv Biennial, the Matter of Art Biennale (Prague), HKW (Berlin), HAU (Berlin), Centrale Fies (Italy), Manifesta Biennial (Kosovo), documenta fifteen, Kunstraum Niederoesterreich (Vienna) and Ars Electronica (Linz), among others.
