Ewa Zarzycka is an artist working in the field of conceptual art who practises performance art, including a specific form known as “spoken performance”, as well as drawing as a means of recording her own texts, diagrams, maps and charts. She also creates objects, videos and installations. She currently teaches the course “Processual Actions and Performance” in the postgraduate Mediation and the Art Market programme at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. Her works are held, among others, in the collections of the National Museum in Warsaw, the National Museum in Wrocław – Four Domes Pavilion, the Józef Robakowski Exchange Gallery, the Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź, the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, Wrocław Contemporary Museum, Zachęta – National Gallery of Art in Warsaw, MOCAK in Kraków, Andrzej Ciesielski’s My Archive Foundation and Zachęta in Lublin. She has received scholarships from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the City of Wrocław and the City of Lublin. Documentation of her work is held at the Secondary Archive / Artists of Central and Eastern Europe and the Saga Archive in Switzerland. She is a recipient of the Katarzyna Kobro Award, presented during the 20th edition of the award. She has been actively engaged in performance art since the 1980s.
