Corina Cimpoieru has a background in cultural anthropology and works as a researcher and coordinator of the Media Library and Archive at the National Center for Dance Bucharest (NCDB). Her work focuses on researching and rediscovering the history of Romanian dance and performance through public and private archives, as well as on exploring archival practices in contemporary artistic projects. She has contributed to dance reenactments, exhibitions and publishing projects, including editing Radical Bodies in Contemporary Performances by Mihaela Michailov and coordinating the Romanian translation of André Lepecki’s The Exhaustion of Dance: Performance and the Politics of Movement. Her recent research has focused on choreographer and dancer Miriam Răducanu, resulting in an extensive project that includes the 2024 archival exhibition Miriam Răducanu – An Archive Exhibition with senZ, the documentary Miriam Răducanu – Rigor and senZ, directed by Alexandra Gulea, and a catalogue bringing together archival materials documenting Răducanu’s artistic work over more than five decades. In 2024, Cimpoieru received the National Dance Centre Bucharest Award for her contribution to contemporary dance in Romania. In 2026, she taught at the Academy for Dance and Performance organised by the NCDB.
